YouTube "educational" videos such as Ted Talks, are an interesting use of our current technology. I listened to a dozen or so Ted Talks on a drive up to Austin last week while driving through that section of 281 where you lose NPR broadcast from Harlingen and can't pick up NPR in San Antonio yet. These talks are often eye opening, even mind blowing, but one thing I noticed was that the snippets of information don't delve as deeply as a journal article on the same topic by the same individual, and are often disjointed from each other. Like a pointillist painting, we are required to connect the dots.
The videos below are a digestible introduction to some ideas about digital identity that can be "out there."
Amber Case: We're Already
Cyborgs | Nat Geo Live
Ray Kurzweil: Get Ready for Hybrid Thinking, Ted Talk
Julian Baggini: Is There a Real You? Ted Talk
I like these videos! I think these would be great course material.
